A recent report from ATTOM Data Solutions, a California-based data company, found it is better to buy than rent in six out of Tampa Bay’s seven counties. In all of Tampa Bay’s counties, except Manatee, buying a home was a better option, according to the report, which looked at renting and home affordability in 855 counties across the U.S. In Hillsborough County, an average three-bedroom rental property costs $1,687 a month, while the average weekly wage is $1,040. The Sunshine State has topped U-Haul’s list of “growth states” based on net trucks entering and exiting the state in a calendar year.
